Sadly after 10 years we have said goodbye to our old fleetwood countryside. After numerous damp repairs by me (with the help of you guys on here) we decided to both retire, the van to a travellers site in the midlands, me to a 2008 Dethleffs 550 fixed bed.
Does anyone out there own a Dethleffs caravan, if so is there anything, or any problem areas i should look out for?
Hope not, took me months to find it, bit like rockin horse poo.
I can't give you any advice on a dethleffs, but I can say you will LOVE your fixed bed, we always shied away from them, as that layout wouldn't of worked when our son was small and used to come with us, but when he stopped, we treated ourselves to one........and will never go back, it's just ace :) enjoy x

No fixed bed. But have heard that if its a good one the Deffletts are as good as any really good makes. I guess its "hope all goes well with it" like I hope ours is okay also.
Enjoy your fix it will never happen to us as cannot afford another van. But I like the look of one as in our fc we had they were a kind of permanent fixed bed also.Always made up.& out.

Just gone to a fixed bed WHAT HAVE WE BEEN MISSING, brilliant.
I know right ? They are just great. Feel tired, just go to bed, no beds to make up, wake up , no beds to pack away.....pure comfort.

Many thanks for your replies folks, 4 weeks before we pick it up, cant wait now. Only reason I asked on here was that I was having the have we done the right thing feeling.
But with a 2 year gold warranty, I suppose im just worrying bout nothing.
You'll be fine, and with a 2 year warranty, what more could you want, 4 weeks will come round soon and then you'll be laying in that bed going ahhhhh lol, have fun x
