Hmmmm still no light's the battery is all conected so we may try a new battery to see if it's that, our caravan don't have a main light switch (that I can see) but it is an old caravan (1990).
Would our caravan light's work just off the electric with out a battery do any one know?
Also on the fuse box under the seat there is a switch to put the electric on and then there are two trip switches the right one is for the sockets but I don't know what the left one is for, could this be the light's and also the fridge?
Sorry for all the questions but this is my very first caravan and I don't know much about them at all and it's not helped by the fact we never had any manuals with the caravan.
Thank you for any help you can give me.

I think its possibly too old to have a mains light. No the lights won't work without a leisure battery.
The fridge won't work on a site without either elecricity EHU or gas, the 12v for the fridge is only whilst you are driving and there is a relay twixt car and caravan, usually on a 12s grey socket.
Is your water pump working? If it is, there's nothing wrong with your battery as most work on the 12v leisure battery system.
The trip switches might have the answer. I can't remember if they go up or down to switch on, so try them both up, then try them both down. The left one will definately be for the lights, maybe the fridge, and maybe the water pump.
If you have life to the sockets and the other trip switch is in the same position, then it could possibly be a fuse that needs repacing in the unit, or you have a flat leisure battery. Connect the battery up to the EHu with a charger plugged into the sockets in the van, that will bypass a flat battery and then you'll know.
