Hi. My existing tow ball is metallic colour and unpainted, it is used with a Winterhoff hook -up. As I am changing a knackered 12S socket, I have to remove tow ball. I thought I might as well replace the tow ball for a new one. The ones I have seen are black and seem to be painted? Are these OK for use with the frictional pads on my Winterhoff? The black surface seems quite "slippery" and what happens if/when this coating gets worn off or chips off?
Any advice or prior knowledge? Thanks, Adrian
