I like the Bailey Carolina with bedroom at rear, nice little sitting area and  triple bunks.  In essence we want twin axle 5-6 berth caravan with this sort of set up.  I like the idea of the door not opening directly against or into the bunks as we have two children 3 & 6.

I would consider the Elddis superstorm but obviously the beds have to be made up and looks like a quality van.

I'm wondering whether the fixed bunks is a blessing obviously its only for the children and you do restrict for taking it out without the children (hardly going to happen).

The upgrade we are looking at is 2005 - 2009, twin axle quality van and spec.

Really has anymore felt that the fixed bunk is a hinderance or a blessing.  ANyone recommend another van possibly 5 berth but with middle bathroom. This van will suit us for a few years but have to assume bad weather and space for the children to play and draw.  Shutting them off with a door is also great for piece.

Hi I can only speak from our experience and that is we have a 4 berth and we have to make up the dinette into bunk beds and after a year of this we have had enough and are looking for a 6 berth fixed bunk beds.

Today we looked at a swift fairway bunks at the back bathroom in the middle, unfortunately it was a little too much over our budget.

So fixed bunks all the way for us!

Hi, we have a pegasus 546, mid bathroom, end bedroom and fixed bunks. We find it fantastic for the kids, they have they're own room that can be closed off with the sliding door when a bit of piece and quiet is in order !!

We specifically went for fixed bunks (triple) and havent regretted it. The beds are always made up. Each child has its own "bedroom" and the bunks dont take up that much space for sleeping 3. I dont mind making uo the front double as it only takes a couple of mins if you use a memory foam topper with a sheet already on it but Id hate to make up the kids beds every night as well.

We have a Swift Fairway 570 6 berth with fixed rear bunks and its fab for the kids, beds always made up, and not in the way either. Bonus is bottom bunk folds up for more storage when on the move

We went from the double bunk of a Bailey 550/6 to the triple bunk of the GT60 540/6 as this had a sliding door for the girls privacy. Now they have grown so quickly in the last year they can't get in & out of the top bunk and now I have to make up the side dinette. Triple bunks are fine for the smaller kids who want the top bunk. Measure before buying.

We are exactly the same having the same van as you, before swapping to the 540/6.
We've found exactly the same, the sound of our son banging his head is all too common.

We've now started to look at fixed double bunks that allow more space.
Swings and roundabouts isn't it?

We have the bailey 5/46 - had it for 5 years and it has been great. Having the 'separate areas' has been a real bonus especially in poor weather. Nice for the kids to have their own room with table. My husband made a smaller shelf that fits into the side so that the boys could watch tv in there, without having to have the bigger table up. Also fitted an extra socket.

However......my sons are now 11 and 14. the 14 yr old is now 5'9'' - you don't anticipate how quickly they will grow! Neither of them want to sleep in the top bunk so my older son tends to sleep out in a pup tent/awning or has the middle bunk and we make up the dinette for the younger one (it's slightly shorter). Just had 3 weeks away and we now know we can't go on like this!

Looking at the Unicorn Valencia which seems to be the best option.

I don't regret getting the triple bunk van - probably would change the van about every 5 years or so anyway.
