We use ours all year round. Away most weekends march to end of October. Try for every other weekend thru the winter. Along with main holidays. Weather permitting a fortnight over Christmas and new year.

Nothing better than New Year in the van, choose a good site with lovely blocks (can recommend C&CC Teversal) All cosy in the van and awning too. Just remember when you put the heating on you must ventilate well or you will get condensation for England. Enjoy

Winter times means that most campsites have vacancies. This means that you can wait until you feel like a break and just check the weather for your planned holiday. if it looks as though it may be OK just book anywhere at the last minute and go. Some CC sites do half price offers over winter. C&CC also have mid week offers especially if you are of a certain mature age. Check this months CC magazine

This what we are looking forward to now we have changed from the fc to c.van. Camping for longer as the winter is okay for the fitter ones under canvas as they can keep their walking legs moving but darn cold for those that cannot.

Now we start our first 6 week run from 2nd Sept. Want to go away in winter in the crispy type of weather like we used to.

Enjoy yourselves all who are going away whatever in & whenever you go.

I am so happy that it's autumn , autumn and winter are my favourite caravanning times. No swarms of traffic all heading the same way as you, fewer kids on sites, those special stolen moments of sunshine, cosy evenings in the van ooh love it

We go all year round too, at least in the wintertime you know what to expect of the weather and you know what clothes to take, not like summer when you take some of everything just in case.

We take the slow cooker, get it set in the morning off we go on frost/sunny walk (if we are lucky) then back to the van for ready made dinner.

It's just as nice going in winter, just different.

My van is a 1993 it's warm enough sometimes too hot if we have the gas heating on, we use propane gas and raise the water butt off the floor on a decking board and use an insulated cover, we have had. All the pipes freeze once but we just used the site facilities until they defrosted, we always go on electric in winter and run a cheap halogen heater toasty

Winter Long is a caravan protector which can be applied to the caravan or motorhome to protect it over winter. It's from OLPro.
