Just been to hemsby for the weekend, and we took our new pop up gazebo instead of the awning, they both weigh about the same,on the way down we had the gazebo in the caravan over the axle, but on the way back we had it in the back of the car,and I must admit it seemed to be a more stable towing experience,so just wondered what do the rest of you do,is it car or caravan for you?.
You need to load car & caravan evenly, try to load over caravan axle but not too much weight in car boot as you already have a fair weight on car rear axle from caravan.
Same as Tony52 we normally put the awning in the car and poles in the van but on this trip (we are away at the moment we didn't bring the awning but now wished we had the weather in Norfolk has been great.Ian

i chuck it in the car so its not in the way if we stop for a brew...
its also there and ready for me to put up along with the EHU cable....(first two jobs).....it already takes SWMBO too long just to get the water and waste carriers out of the van for me to fill.
normally in the caravan over the axle , you have to have some ballast in there , if you have ever driven an empty van its quite bouncy , but load load it up and its a smooth ride ,
