So this afternoon me and the Chief Fairy went for a drive over to Exmouth.
As we hit the A30 at Launceston I noted immediately that there were a few? motorhomes and 'vans coming down the line.
Being a nerd we counted them and in an hour and before getting to the M5 at Exeter, there were 170 units heading for 'The Pointy End'
No doubt 99% of them were occupied by Grey Nomads now seeking peace and qiet now that the little darlings are going back to school next week.
(Yes, I know the ones North of the Border went back a fortnight ago)
------------- How come when some people visit the fountain of knowledge, they only gargle!!!
Silver nomads.....grey nomads....saga louts...I prefer "the lucky ones" - retired - kids have left home, nothing better to do with their days than park a van on a footpath network or the foot of a fell and just wander the countryside all day, then back to the box for dinner and a glass or three of the red stuff.....and then do it all over again tomorrow.........

------------- If you're not on a fell your wasting your feet and for 2014 it's.......Feb Castleton Mar North Yors Moors; Apr Sutton on Sea; May Thirsk; Jun Clapham/Riverside (Lakes); July Wharfedale; August Crakehall; Sept Knaresborough; Oct Wirral Park/Clitheroe
tee hee. Or the "child free" When " New age travellers" were the butt of the gutter press, I read a spoof warning of "Middle Age Travellers"... raiding houses on Sunday mornings , washing the car and mowing the lawn and then getting away quick after leaving plastic gnomes in the shrubbery. Alway raises a smile when I think about, although I havent completely made the transition ...yet.
