Planning on buying second hand and this should be checked against windows and documentation On adria is the number under the white step plate on the a frame and therefore inaccessible?
Sorry. Try again! I thought that you should check the CRIS number stamped on the chassis against those that are on the windows and on the accompanying documentation that they all tie up and then use the number to do a formal check etc. on the adria I looked at I couldn't find the CRIS on the chassis and was told it was stamped on top of the chassis A frame but under the white plastic platform so not visible and the plastic was not removable without risk of breaking. You might need to look at a pic of an adria front to see what I mean.
Usually, so long as the same CRIS number is on all windows, doesn't look tampered with, and this ties to the documentation then you should be safe. To change all the windows would be hellishly expensive, and not one a thief would go to!
Then it's just a case of doing a CRIS/HPI check to make sure not listed as stolen, insurance write off, outstanding finance, etc.
Thanks. It's a 2009 model (sold late 2008) altea 542 dt. Quite impressed with this layout for our family of 5. Also that it is lightweight (we are restricted to 1350kg max weight) and the bunks are a decent size. Whilst the fittings might be basic to some, we have been tent campers for several years, so basic is luxury to us!
