which brand do you use for your loo? I used to use thretford, I thought it smelled to strong plus found i needed to use more to do the job. I thought i give elson blue ago, I find that you dont need to use as much as the thretford brand, and found the elson cheaper.

dont like thetford pink, gives you black bits then they sell you one to get rid of the bits.quite strong but prefer the blue.fenwicks sell one for both tank and cassette, top and tail if name has not changed.
no info but there is a new one on the market.bottom and top.

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I tried Elsan once in comparison to Thetford and I liked it much better. The problem is that the camping outlets near me don't sell it apart from one and they are quite overpriced so unless I travel miles to buy it I have to buy what's a vailable nearby which is either Thetford or Blue Diamond.
My husband says the Thetford doesn't work as well as Elsan - we use our toilet for everything as we mostly go on field rallies.. I don't like the smell of either so might try Organic next time I buy.
It depends on what you use the toilet for. If it is only for a pee then almost any fluid with a perfume in it will do the job but if it is used for 'everything' I find that Elsan Blue is the most efficient at breaking down the solids and preventing too many 'gases'. The sachets are handy but don't work so well especially in the warmer months. As for the top tank I tend to use Elsan pink or plain water. The Thetford issue with black bits from their Pink fluid tends to only arise of fluid is left in the top tank for extended periods of time. I did a few experiments with this a year or two ago and Elsan Pink did not have any problems even long after the black growth appeared in the Thetford Pink trial.
Most people use way too much fluid in top and waste tanks and rather than measure it they simply glug it in. Not only is it a waste of money (times are hard!) it means you have to carry more chemical when you go away.

we use Fenwicks top and tail, it is eco friendly, green and smells good. not chemically at all
Another vote for Fenwicks. They have improved the smell and it is a lot better than the original formula. Around £10 for the bottle and you can use it in the top tank as well, cutting down what you have to carry. Well worth a try.

Maybe so, but the Pink stuff will...
Provide a more effective flush Keep the flush water fresh Leave a protective film in the bowl that prevents deposit from forming The lubrication action makes the blade of the waste-holding tank easier to open and close.
And it's only about £4 for 400ml which when diluted will give you 45 litres of flushing water.
