I am planning to fit an external socket to the wall of my house so I can easily power my van year round to keep battery topped up, run dehumidifier etc.
Currently I run the caravan cable through an ajar window and plug it into a regular socket in the house.
Can you buy 3 pin weatherproof sockets for mounting on the wall if your house?
My ideal scenario would be to fit an exterior twin socket which has a regular domestic plug type socket and a three pin one for my caravan. Problems is I can't find one anywhere?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

there is loads of stuff on the market....but you are going to need two sockets, or just one to continue using the adapter from the caravan to 13 amp household socket.
if you want to plug the caravan in without an adapter, just get the first suggestion from blueexpo above. (although its cheaper in toolstation)
if you want a 13 amp household type socket....you need to decide if you want to leave something plugged in, or just for regular use.
i.e. if you have a plug, plugged in, it needs to be covered if you leave it out in all weathers....eg...ip65 rated
if you just want to use it for the mower etc, then you can get an IP55
With the std 13amp type socket i would highly recommend you have a built in RCD in the garden....cost a bit more, but what price can you put on electricution!
We have fitted outdoor sockets - quite easy to do butI had reservations at first - Electricity and outside makes me shudder!!
But as long as you get a socket that is designed for external use you should be ok. We have one that plugs into a standard 3 pin indoors and we have channeled it through the wall and postioned it in the garden. We run our pond pump off ours and still have a spare socket available for using the mower etc;

Technically you should not have the 16A "commando" plug fitted on the side of your house, as sockets fitted to domestic dwellings should be shuttered (it like your normal 13A)
There are arguments that the flap constitutes a shutter, but its a flimsy one, as you lift it with your hand, not a "tool" (ie plug)
I have one, and tbh, it isn't an issue unless you want to sell up, when you may have to remove it as it shouldn't pass an inspection.
Outdoor work is also notifiable under the building regs.
