 hi has anyone got or towed with a ssangyong 2.7 str 2009  trip auto

im thinking of buying one of these ,can anybody tell me exactly what they do to the mpg,towing and around town

anybody know of any bad things happen to these cars

what do you they be like towing with an auto gearbox as ive never had an auto car before

i tow a elddis crusader twin axle.

It's actually called a TIP (not trip) auto but you haven't stated whether it's a diesel or petrol so the figures provided are for the diesel version.

I can give you some official figures for this vehicle which may be the best place to start but not knowing anyone that has owned one I can't provide any further information.

On a 2.7 (2009) the fuel consumption is:  urban = 23.2 mpg. / extra urban = 33.6 mpg. / combined 28.8 mpg.

Engine power = 165 BHP / engine torque = 251 lbs./ft.

Gross vehicle weight = 2760 kgs. / minimum kerbweight = 2100 kgs. / maximum towing weight (braked) = 3200 kgs.

 hi,its going to be a 2.7 diesel ,thanks to the people who has replied,but can anybody tell me how much to the mpg,is very important to me as i want to know i can aford to run it

So, 2009 SPR AWD Auto, same as mine. It's 186 BHP so it's a bit thirstier than the standard 2.7. £460 Road Tax and low 20's towing, high 20's low 30's solo.

Towing? it tows like a dream, you would not know the van was there, until you check the fuel gauge  we go down to the Ardeche in France with ours, no bother at all.

Serviced regularly and no real problems, have had to change front pads and rear discs and pads and re-gas the air con.

If you go for it and when it requires tyres, don't go near any budget brands or it will just eat them up, IMO the best ones for it are Yokohama.

Oh and it's come a long way since the crappy Musso's
