The wife asked me the other day about painting the inside of our caravan it is 20 years old but is still quite nice inside. Has anyone else painted inside their 'van and would you need any kind of special paint?
Thanks for the reply's, yes it would be done over winter and also fitting new carpet as we have plenty of carpet after doing the living room so if I paint the walls magnolia it would be like a home from home!
Painted mine with Dulux Kitchen and bathroom paint. I wish I had used some sort of an undercoat first, even after rubbing down and painting, it knocks and scratches off very easily. I painted on top of the original panels which were coated with some sort of very thin paper stuff.
I have a little pot of touch up paint with a brush in it for the odd scratches. But if I had undercoated with something first, I feel it would have been better. Still, twill do for now!
dulux woodsheen would be best ,but any paint is susceptible to marks and scratches ,so a compatible coat of sealant would be needed ,seen a few old folding campers that have been done this way and they look super ,go on the folding campers section and look or ask for pics

You could always give it a coat of varnish to protect it
------------- Are you sure you've read the instructions?
I just used a kitchen/bathroom emulsion, its more resilient to damp conditions (thinking more of damp unheated air in the winter than actual caravan damp) as in the cold/damp emulsion can rub off.
