Hi Leebo
We caravan all yeas round and have spent many many cold New Years caravanning in Scotland.
The only precautions we take are.
1) We have a padded jacket for the water butt and we keep the butt it off the ground on a couple of bricks or wood. What ever is available
2) We take the pump inside at night.
3) If your fully serviced you can use that foam lagging for your hose or again you can take it in at night.
We forgot one night and the hose froze Oh My the look my hubby got when he took it into the shower block with him. Hahaha

biggest problem is the waste water as trying to get frozen waste water out of a watemaster or similar is very difficult. I tend to empty mine before it gets dark and then put a bucket (old paint bucket with a lid and hole for the pipe in it) under the waste outlet with a very short pipe. If it does freeze hard during the night all you have to do is take the lid off in the morning and empty out a large dirty icecube.

Winter caravanning is excellent, Keep water containers off the floor (We use polystyrene tiles or similar) and lagged. We use a Hot water lagging jacket from Wickes and that grey pipe for lagging outside pipes for the water pipes. Make sure you have propane (red Bottle) as opposed to Blue Butane as this will freeze.
Other than that warm cloths and plenty of Mulled Wine and hot chocolate.
