Hi we bought our first van this year but only just managed to get away for a week in august as I was due to go in for surgery, had great weather and a fantastic time as did blue our dog, only problem was is that he is a very hairy dog and with this in mind I bought a hard yard brush as the carpet area that needed brushing is small but found that I was brushing at least three times a day, any advice on how anyone else with a hairy dog copes would be much appreciated.
We had a runner up the van when we had the dog.If the hairs get on the cushions wrap sticky tape wrong way round, round ur hand. All the hairs will stick to it.Failing that..shave the dog ?
Don't have this problem now as we have poodles ( don't moult) but with the Labrador we used to have, we had a runner and kept throws on seats, even though he never went on the seats, the hair would still fly everywhere, we also made sure we brushed him everyday when away to keep the shedding to a minimum.

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
Another vote for a runner and throws - my two don't shed much luckily but the aforementioned keeps the inside protected from the rigours of the dogs and kids.
Gloves with a raised
grip work better. Put the glove on and run it under the tap to make it wet then
shake off excess moisture. Run your fingers over the pet hair areas in short
scraping strokes. You will find that the hair is easily removed and it is
easy to get into nooks and crannies .
Thanks for advice everyone a few good ideas....he really is a hairy dog despite having a short coat. At home I have to empty our dyson animal everyday...just to give you an idea of how hairy our blue is.
We put laminate flooring down to make it easier but I still like to use my rubber brushes. I think I got them from Kleeneze one is full length but is telescopic so easy to store and the other is a hand brush for the upholstery. They really do work a treat.
sympathies....we have not one but 2 very hairy golden retrievers, we removed the carpets and put down a lovely new carpet runner every season, this keeps the damp dog smell out of the van, the runners cost just £10 from a bargain shop and im very happy to recycle them as awning doormats when they are past their best, then i discard. i hoover the seats every day and this keep the hairs at bay.

Buy a furminator !
They are amazing and get rid of all the loose coat. we use ours on our cats and hardly get any shedding now.
Like Murano we also have a poodle so don't have dog hair issues... but i remember i could have made a new dog everyday with what i swept up daily from our old springer

YOu can also make use of vacuum cleaner to clean you carpets.
sorry titchy1 for the late reply:
we bought a tesco cheap as chips own brand 1600w cylinder bagged vac and keep it in the boot of the car and bring in out when we are hooked up to the lecky on site. does the job.
bought a new van and goin to scotchguard the seats etc before dogs use it (just spray on and let dry)
have no intention of putting covers on seats as bought van cos i liked the seat colours etc.
