Well the 400D sprinter we bought last year has served us well and we wanted something a bit bigger and with a few extra toys.

We part ex'd for an Elddis Jetstream EX2000. 4 berth, L shaped lounge which we wanted. Just me, the wife and our 5 year old daughter. I know that from other threads here that L shaped is a bit marmite but it's perfect for what we want and my daughter loves the extra space.
It tows nice and is just what we were looking for. First trip due in a few days. Had to sort out some bits and pieces on it before use.
It had a KEL Concept alarm with no remotes, it's one Keen don't support anymore and I was quoted £135 to upgrade. A bit pricey for me, I only wanted protection while on site and away from the van so I modified a car alarm I won off e-bay for £12.50 to do the job.
Bought a plastic casing for £7 from maplin, large-ish rechargeable back up battery from local electrical shop, one 5v relay so I could use the Keen pir sensor on the neg trigger car alarm. A couple of diodes and wiring to complete.

Spent a couple of hours installing and used the shock sensor from the car alarm on the front bulkhead to protect the front locker. pir covers the inside, 2 new fobs with optional silent arming and disarming so as not to bother other vanners. Works great and does what I want it to.
Just under £35 in total so well pleased.

Couple of pics of interior of van for those interested.
Can't wait to use it. We have two trips booked already before Nov and looking forward to them.

Congratulations, that's a lovely looking van!

We too have a side dinette layout, we took the top bunk fixings out (and stored them carefully in the loft) as we knew we would never use them and makes the single bed a bit wider. . You'd be amazed how heavy they are!  Easily put back as and when we come to change the van.

Yep, I've removed the top bunk stuff and it's bagged and in the attic. Not really going to use them so no point carrying the extra weight.

They probably weigh as much as a crate of cider :)
