I bought an "oldie" on ebay for £500 in November a few years back, did a little bit of tidying, used it for 4 years then put it on ebay in July and sold it for £550. So, buy anytime between October and Christmas I think.

When the seller needs the money more than the van?

Typically anytime from September onwards, Xmas time people may decide they need money and sell at bargain prices or into the new year, But once your past Feb people start thinking of holidays and by easter the prices are well up as people rush around at the last minute buying cheap vans.

We bought in November, in Germany ... got a very good price.

Not tried selling it yet, but checking on similar model/year, we are still ahead of the figure we paid two years ago!
