A truck version is a bit overkill for a caravan, as you say, it will divert around low bridges and weight restrictions. However, there isn't a realistic option in between as yet. The options are overkill with a truck option, use a standard car navigation and risk being sent down a single track road or use a combination of maps, sat navs and common sense.
Unfortunately there seem to be a few that allow the voice of the sat nav to override what they can see in front of them. I wonder if the sort of person who would tow a caravan down a dirt track because the sat nav said to ever looks out of the windscreen or relies on the LCD display to steer.
