Just back from our first outing with our caravan! All was great apart from that I noticed when we were almost home towing that the caravan front lights were flashing - for much less than a second and spaced out by several seconds, but regular, when they were switched off. They came on when switched on. Don't know if rear lights were doing same thing. I suspect this must be due to the car rather than the van? do you experienced lot think that is most likely too? Could it be related to car wipers? Thanks for any advice on what to do.
i too think its a bad earth/negative connection,it could be on the car or the caravan.or possibly just a loose connection somewhere.check for burning round pins.
check main cable has not been rubbing on the ground on your return and worn through.

------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Likewise I would also suspect an earth problem. Try it on another car to check if it is the car or caravan that is causing the problem. If it is the car I would suspect the earth to the car chassis from the 12n socket or maybe even a loose wire in the socket. If it is in the caravan side, check the 12n plug and if it is not that then look at cable as Michael suggests. All of the above should be fairly simple to check with a simple multimeter.

Thanks for replies. Checked it again today. Only front LED flashing, the rear lights are off. Car to go to be checked at vauxhall dealer that programmed correctly as factory fitted tow bar. Not entirely confident they'll sort it an suspect they'll blame van.......
