I read in one of the mags something about you can use both gas and electric functions on caravan fire at the same time - or did I dream it? Can you, do you, is it safe, comments?
I use it like that when we first get on site to get the van thoroughly warmed, once you get all the underbunks warm etc, its easy to keep it warm enough on leccy only.
The current Truma system can use both, if things get too hot it will switch off the electric heating, same goes for the last of the Carver mk2 Fanmaster heaters.
However anyone with a mk1 Fanmaster will find it switches off very quickly leaving just the gas fire.
So in all cases it is perfectly safe to use both at the same time which also applies to the water heaters.
