We have never been away in our van in the winter months and to be honest I would rather stay in my warm and cosy house in the winter.  But if you take an extra heater and plenty of warm bedding, will you be ok?  I dont know but if you dont try it you will never know.  I hope you enjoy it and please post on here and let us know how you get on.

Minus 19 in the Cairngorms!!! No problem in our old Globetrotter. We had propane gas in the gas fire and an electric blow heater for back up. The caravan is easier to keep warm than your house as it is smaller. Heating the van is not the problem but keeping the water running is. However keep water in the van at all times for brews and use the site facilities for everything else. In Scotland most sites have underfloor heating and hot power showers, choose carefully. We have had better weather later in the year than in summer so go enjoy I feel sure you won't regret it.

My little caravan has glass windows, very thin insulation in the walls and no form of heating at all.

I love going away in the colder months - I just make sure I have warm PJs, fleece blankets and my Duvalay so I sleep well. A hot water bottle is a welcome addition during very cold spells.
During the days I like to get out and about, walking and visiting new places.

I was away this weekend - temperature on Friday night was down to -2'C and I was lovely and cosy until the strong winds during a blizzard blew my skylight off so had to come home a day early.
