Cleaned our van last weekend and was going to put the cover on but it started raining before we got chance. Thought we might put it on this weekend with bonfire night looming thought we would cover it before the nice clean roof gets coated sooty debris again.
What we are not sure about is if we should put it over a wet caravan if it rains again this weekend.
Our van tends to get pools on the top that stay there till they evapourate.
It is a breathable cover and isn't entirely waterproof so it would let some water through anyway.
Never having covered a van before this one we bought a cover that is only a top half one, it comes down to just below the windows. We have only used it for one winter a couple of years ago but when we had that bad freeze and tried to get it off before going away at Xmas it had frozen to the van roof. It was quite a job getting it off.
Always been in a delema about covers never been sure what we think about them, it was me that wanted it but O.H said it's better to get the air around it.
Our breathable cover instructions say "make sure caravan is clean and dry before covering". Its probably to stop excessive condensation occurring under the cover.
Can you mop, sponge or chamois it dry as you go?
