I am sure i read this somewhere, but i can't find it now. Does putting clingfilm across the windows stop the cover scratching the windows when it moves about in the wind over winter? or is it a waste of time and clingfilm?

I've heard that clingfilm on pvc windows can actually cause them to craze, so not recommended.

The only thing I've seen is some folk used to cover the front window when the van was in transit, so they had a clean window once on site.
To be honest though, as mentioned above, it's not recommended as most domestic films can actually cause damage to the plastic units over time.

If your cover is going to scratch your windows I would have thought it likely that it will be able to rip clingfilm. Get a cover that does not scratch such as Protech perhaps?

I read somewhere and also on the CC forum that cling film burns plastic windows,it causes a chemical reaction.

I used clingfilm last year,it stopped windows getting the usual.marks on off the cover and were nice and clean with no problems. I un-rapped early march I will do the same this year

from past reports cling film can cause a reaction to the plastic windows over time. However it has also been said that there are 2 types of cling film. one cannot be used in direct contact with food as it is carcinogenic. the other is ok for use.This one apparently is ok to use on the van windows?? Me I use old sheets

Try bubble wrap, fix to corners with a small strip of masking tape to secure. We've used this for years with no ill effects and no scratches.
