Well we finally got around to having a weekend away in our van. Went to a quiet little place just so we could give everything a try. Was also our first trip mad max the beagle pup. All went well and learnt a few things I can do different and a couple of things I need to invest in. can't wait to go again!

Exciting isn't it, I can remember our first trip away in our first van. We got almost down to Exmouth before asking each other who had put the awning panels in.. you guessed it, they were left here in the house  we still enjoyed it though.

We had caravans for many years after that trip and never once removed the panels from the caravan again unless we were emtying it to go for service but they went straight back in as soon as it was home. Enjoy your caravan

Glad to hear you had a good first trip away.

I have only been caravanning for about 2 years and I am still learning something  new each time I go away!

Same here as HEJC! Been towing for three years, it's different every time. Always something new to learn, or consider!

Glad you enjoyed your first trip and are looking forward to doing it all again.  I love looking at things for the caravan and I dont think you ever stop buying for it, providing you can afford it abviously.

Our caravan is away for the winter and I am so sad, I am having withdrawel symptoms already.  Roll on spring. 17

I don't know if we will get chance to go again this year. Got some house chores to do so they don't interfere with next season. Ha ha

We have just bought our very first caravan... keep popping out to sit in her lol. We been camping for a few years in a tent and then folding camper. Cant wait to take her out next week. Good thing about owning a caravan is that the season is much longer 17

Reminds me of a similar event we had when going away for a BH weekend.

We had taken the awning into work so that we could use my spray equipment to apply waterproofing to the awning fabric.

We had left the poles in the van but packed up the awning into the garage on completion of the waterproofing and was supposed to remmeber to take it with us.

It was only when we had moved the caravan into position so there was enough room for the awning that that horrible feeling of something being left behind starting niggling away.

It was only when getting the poles out that we realised our mistake.

Thankfully it was a gorgeous weekend so we did not need it - it was just a little annoying as we paid for having the awning and could not get it refunded - oh well lessons learnt!!

I must admit it had been frustrating waiting to go out in it. Happy we finally have but I want to go again now.
I agree that it does extend the season. I'd never have got the wife in the tent this time of year.
