Do you not think that on a windy day it may not be able to hold the sides down. Depending on the length of the awning. There is enough of a problem when the wind whips up underneath them already so not having pegs at regular intervals.We have had to hold down the sides with extra weight on the bottom on gusting winds especially. Unless your going to use a very heavy pole. Possibly it would not work very well.
