Use also Google earth and workout direction of Caravan/Camping site to find direction of local transmitter. (all done before you go to your chosen site).

Looks an interesting app, but I much prefer a proper meter that gives a good reading of signal strength.
I use a Fringe UHF signal finder, which has made set-up of the aerial an absolute doddle and far more accurate than 'second guessing'.
A very worthwhile buy.
Downloaded this app today, from my house I can see Emley Moor transmitter & the app was spot on pointing directly towards it & even telling me the distance of 15.4 miles, will see what it's like next time I'm on site

I use uk aerial finder app on my phone and its never let me down. Best of all its a free app.
Thats the one I have been using this year and its normally pretty good and it gives you enough information to ascertain if a particular transmitter is blocked by hills or trees etc. It is quite lightweight in its system demands and will run on even the low end android phones.

It also tells you what the polarity should be, most important of all!

Does anyone have the iTunes link to this app. I don't have Facebook and can't find it any where on iTunes App Store.

There's one on the apple app store called Aerial Advisor UK. Seems fairly reliable and it's free!!
I also used the Fringe signal finder once it was great first time, never worked since.
Agri
I'd get in touch with Fringe as they're support is excellent.

Just be aware that if installed on an older iTouch or iPhone, the app may not work due to lack of necessary accelerators for the bearing function to work properly.
