Hey Lovelies, I'm wondering if anyone know of any good sites/books/magazines etc for inspiration on refurbishing our lil tourer. I've got some ideas regarding decor, but would appreciate any practical tips anyone has got.

Many Thanks

When decorating the walls of your lil tourer will you be using wallpaper?

This will need a special adhesive, if you want to know more give me a shout.

Good luck.

I'm also doing this to my new van,

I was planning on using paint on my walls, just normal emulsion with a good sized blob of PVA mixed in for good measure.

I'm not sure if this is the correct method but it's worth a try, I can always paper over it if it doesn't work.

Didn't "Fallen Angel" do a "Pink" job on her van?, I am sure there are pictures on here somewhere but can't remember where, all I do remember was that it looked fantastic.

Which reminds me I have not seen her post on here in a while, I do hope she is OK as I know she had mobility problems.

I painted the interior of mine with Dulux kitchen and bathroom paint. While it did a good job and looks lovely, I wish now in retrospect that I had used a primer first, as it is very easy to knock/scrape it off. I painted straight over what was already there (a sort of very thin paper on the panels), after roughening with fine sandpaper.

It will do for a couple of seasons, but I know in the end I'm going to have to either prime it and repaint it, or wallpaper over it.

I echo Geecees comments re Fallen Angel, I haven't seen her posting for a while, I hope she and her family are ok. She painted the outside of her caravan pink, with some paint that was made for outdoor use, but I forget what it was exactly.

A few years ago we had a 1968 Safari caravan, which we did up with new cushion covers, new curtains and a fresh coat of kitchen and bathroom paint. Hubby roller painted the exterior with white gloss. It looked pretty good.

Safari had to go after I become travel sick whenever we towed it.

They reckon you need the special enamel paint that is used for car exteriors to paint the outside of a van, if you want it to last.. Lots of different colours and matches at Halfrauds!

I'm in the process of doing this, what sort of primer should I use under the wall paint?
