this may sound like a silly question but caravan alloys are well expensive can anyone tell me the stud patterns of my bailey pagant 2000 model so i can trace a old car alloy wheel pattern to save myself a few quid
Not a good plan - caravan wheels (single axle) usually have to take a far greater load than a cars wheels.
That is absolutely true as I used to work in the tool and die industry making moulds for aluminium wheels and there are different thicknesses of wheel construction depending on the application. The thickness of alloy in a caravan wheel will most certanly be thicker than that of a car road wheel because of the extra stress and weight load involved. The pattern you are asking about is called the PCD (pitch circle diameter) which some have four and some five but the PCD's vary to different vehicles so it would be difficult to obtain a car wheel for a caravan anyway. Any caravan insurance would probably refuse to insure your unit too as it would be classed a modification and may well not be fit for purpose. It may seem well trying to save a few quid but realistically it's a false economy because if you lose your caravan then you have lost more than just a few quid.
One thing that occurs to me is that you could contact a caravan breaker for tyres, they might have some that are hardly worn for sale. I don't know if this is a good idea or not, just something to consider if you are on a budget.
