Hi,

I have been told that my caravan insurance is invalid due to my van being sited and working as a caravan warden.
I would like to know if there is any way of having the van insured as a sited van when you are working as a warden?

All help and advice is greatly received.

both clubs must do insurance for wardens as they have volunteers working all the time using there own caravan.we are with CClub and as long as you have the correct locks on they are not too concerned about where it is.you need to ask though.

Who told you that the caravan was not insured?

T&Cs on most touring caravan insurance excludes cover if caravan is being lived in permanently or being used for purposes other than social, domestic & pleasure. It would depend on how an insurance co. interpreted these conditions, ie caravan being lived in for part of yr. with owner having bricks & mortar address is not permanent & use is 'domestic' at least.

As CC employ wardens who usually live in their own 'vans one would assume that the CC's own insurance will cover this. If you speak to an insurance co. on the phone it is not unusual for call centre staff to misinterpret T&Cs & one needs to speak to a supervisor & explain circumstances in detail.

If a warden probably not permanent. Not sure if the poster confirms that they are a warden on a CC or C & CC site?

Have you got to tell them that you are working? You are on a long holiday and your van is on a seasonal pitch. I use my van 5 months if not more each year, and have no probs with the ins.
