Owned a 1995 mayfly loved the van and very sorry to see it go but needed a bigger van. Terrific van great build quality and design and was dream to tow. Enjoy your van I think you have an all time classic.
Hi nedlog,
No it dos`nt have an onboard water tank, about the only thing it has not got. It always towed well even on motorways with no problems overtaking or being overtaken. When Al Ko had shockers on offer for £49.99 two years ago I fitted them and it`s even better than before, only other mods were two LED`s to kitchen downlights and a Powrtouch mover. As there is only my wife and myself [kids long flown] its suits us just fine.
Yes there is only me and my wife now, we are too old for the grandkids (that my excuse, they are 19 and 21)
How do you get on with a porch awning? We have Dorema combi and as the roof of the Mayfly slopes down it means the awning rail is about 35 cms lower than normal.
I have rigged some poles that seem to take care of it but it could be better. Did think of havinf the sides of tha awning shortened.
Do the LED's make much difference? I was thinking the same and some for the reading lights.
I don't have a porch awning just a full size Dorema, also a sun canopy which is used for weekends or 2/3 night stays. With the awning rail being lower than most I think that NR are about the only porches that are done in the required height. I am also thinking about a nylon light weight porch and having it altered to fit the lower height, seem to remember the Sunncamp one looked easy to alter and they were on sale for around £80
The LED's I used in the kitchen area are 24led's each which replaced the G4 original bulbs, quite bright maybe a little brighter than the bulbs and use a lot less battery power when on non hook up. I got them from Ebay quite cheap about £3/4 each, not got round to changing the reading ones yet as we never use them.
