Have used both the door security devices pictured by jhsw and can reccomend both. The folding handle I fitted to our Bailey Senator and the other on our current Adria Action. Think the longer back plate is a good idea sad thing is, plastic windows are always a weak spot........Mick

It took four weeks to replace my door after it was broken into. I have read other posts stating that some spares take months to source. This seems to be especially true for windows and items for older vans.

Hello again Martin. Lowdham's have ordered the replacement parts for our 'van but say it could be 6/8 weeks before they get them in, that's hoping they fit and are the correct parts. Not holding our breath! Could be 3 months at least for us. It just depends on how easy it is to source replacement parts, as Simon 100 said before.
On a brighter note, we have moved our 'van to a Cassoa Gold site as a place became available. We were going to wait until the repair work was done but due to the number of owners still turning up at the storage site and finding that they have been victims too we thought it best to leave. We wish you good luck and hope you get your repairs done soon.

looks like you have already taken the next best step and are moving your van to a 5 star storage site. good luck on getting in, there will be others from your old site trying to make the same move.
Try to get your name down for as many sites as possible, that way you might not get your first choice site straight away but it will come round in time

Just a quick reply to Tango55. We did get a reduction on our insurance when I phoned them about the change in storage facility (to CaSSAO gold). It is now £20 cheaper, which I was informed just covered the admin. charges for the change of details, so no change this time.

Martin1987, I think it all depends which insurance company you are with as to how quickly your case is dealt with, and how soon you get the go ahead to have the repairs done. We are with the C&CC and they have been spot on. The assessor was out quickly, they then gave the go ahead to get the estimates done which were approved promptly. Only one dealership deals with Hymers so we didn't have to get the usual three estimates done. Now we wait until the parts are sourced and fitted, this could be 6/8 weeks but at least we have moved our caravan storage and have a bit more peace of mind.
