Hi hope you have fun in your new van. We wouldnt dare have a new one with our bunch, our kids are great door testers etc! Bull terriers are a v ery nice gentle breed IF brought up properly, that saying goes with any breed of dog. It also gets me cross people saying comments like that. I would only go to a site warden about a dog if I saw it was being agressive, so they could speak to the owners then. Anyway have some great hols and enjoy!

Hi Woodsy, I would love to be next to you and your dog, much rather that than someone who is so judgemental without even have met either of you. I WORK AS AN ASSISTANCE DOG TRAINER AND EACH DOG DESERVES TO BE TREATED INDIVIDUALY - DON'T BLAME THE BREED BLAME THE BAD OWNERS.   I have a 13 stone Irish Wolfhound, who is the most placid of dogs, even to those small yappy dogs who try to bite him, whoose owners think it is funny and say things such as " He will have a go at anything"  ( how would they feel if it was the otherv way around )  BUT  I know not all little dogs are like that or their owners, i love the Jack Russels I have worked with ,so I would not presume such a thing !! He was sadly attacked by a Staffy last year, TOTALY the idiot who owned him not the dogs fault!, BUT then again I know some lovely staffys too ,so to tar them with the same brush would be just wrong !!!

I have a Bailey Ranger 620/6  and have yet to go in it yet as just sold our static last year ourselves after 8 years , but I can't wait .

I am a dog groomer and can 100% say I would rather groom a bull breed dog any day than a little snappy cute dog who would bite you as good as look at you.

I have dachshunds and would happily pitch up next to you and your dog.

Blame the deed not the breed people!!!!

I agree there is normaly no such thing as a bad dog just bad owners BUT some sites have a list of banned breeds you will have to check with both clubs and the commercial sites you intend using on their policy, good luck as there is a lot of media hype against certain large breeds which is very much over done but has coloured the general publics views on those breeds.

Hi Woody

I have two bulldogs and have never had a problem.

Most sites refuse dangerous breeds which the English Bull isn't .

Sorry havent been on here for a few days (too busy contributing to the bull terrier forum i help to run! 17)

But just wanted to say many thanks to everyone who have indeed welcomed me to this forum!

Really wont carry on boring you defending bull breeds on here 17. Although, I would just say for the record there is a difference between banned breeds of which there are 4 in this country

  • Pit Bull Terrier
  • Japanese Tosa
  • Dogo Argentino
  • Fila Braziliero
  • and dangerous breeds of which the English Bull Terrier is on neither list!

Lord knows i spend enough time in my own life trying to preach to the converted! But i really appreciate your comments. I am going to make a cardboard sign for Harveys neck and each and every time we have visited somewhere which has made him friendly i will photograph it and post it up for you 17

On a lighter note, i received a phone call from the dealer on Monday to say my new caravan has arrived so we are arranging to pick it up around 25th March ( work commitments permitting) although it is ready now it needs the motor mover fitting and i would also like to have the all over cover here for when we take it straight to storage.

Looking at heading up to Anglesey for the Easter Bank holiday, yes, i know i have only just left there but wanted to go to somewhere familiar for the first long outing as judging by some comments on here regarding new caravans they dont always come without problems!!

I am so excited, its been a while coming to this decision and the floor on my spare room is somewhat stacked out now with all the new bits and pieces i have been buying!

Hopefully, my next post will be to say the awning has arrived!

Well, we went off for the Easter break on our first outing in the Valencia up to Tyddyn Isaf in Anglesey where we had such a lovely time and personally i wished that we had gone back to touring much sooner!

When we had our old ABI Globestar (and there was actually one there although it was empty for the time we were there or i would have nipped across for a cheeky peek!)  many years ago we enjoyed a few breaks on this site and it didnt fail to please us once again. Immaculately kept and the staff cannot do enough for you. The bar and restaurant are small and bijou but the food was well worth the wait and a second glass of Pinot made the time go quite quickly!

I asked for a pitch out of the way as being first time out and all that there is nothing worse than noses pressed up against windows peering at your every move!!!17 Our pitch was lovely, just a short walk and you were literally on Lligwy beach from which we did a good few 3 mile walks whilst we were there.which pleased our dog no end!

All in all it went well, a few tweaks need to be made here and there to get things just right but i am sure it wont be long before we get back into the swing of things!

Harvey was accepted extremely well and received some warm welcomes and admiring glances! (in my quest to show the owner maketh the dog i am going to be taking a little pic of him on every site he is warmly received on so that i can pass on my recommendations to our bull terrier fraternity 17)

Off to catch up on missed posts!
