My husband and I are
looking for a wheel clamp for our single axle Lunar Ariva caravan and we're
trying to decide between Bulldog QD44, Purple Line Nemesis Ultra and Milenco
MI6.
This is our first caravan
so we're very new to all this. If you can give us any help, suggestions or
share your experiences with these three clamps we would be very grateful!
I have always found Milenco products to be very good quality, although I'm not sure what the M16 is you mention.
A very good, small and lightweight lock is the Alko Secure Wheel Lock, but it depends if you van has the receiver built into the chassis and has alloy wheels.
We use the Alko when out on site and a Milenco plus the Alko when stored on the drive.
I have never tried Bulldog or Purple Line products so can't comment on these.

Hi, check with your insurance company to see which one reduce your premium, The list they give you and the decent ones on the market are generally one and the same. Both of the locks above are good but I would recommend a mixture of devices though. We've got a twin chassis with two of the alco units on one side but we also have 7 other devices on the van.
it does not matter whtch one you haveif someone really wants to steal it they will BUT thhe more difficult you can make it for them with good quality kit the more likely they are to pass you by Ipersonally have an alko wheel lock ,milenco wheel clamp ,alko hitch lock, tracker and alarm
You want one that is ear-marked 'Sold Secure' - Milenco, Bulldog etc. These have been tested within an inch of their lives and are usually insurance-approved.
our van at home has two wheel clamps / IDM4 alarm / alko hitchlock / ground anchor to front chassis with heavy chain and quality lock / two back legs heavy chained to the wall with good locks/ CCTV on drive. takes me 15 minutes to free it hopefully it will take them long enough to be seen.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Thank you for all your replies, I’m overwhelmed by the
response. I’m new to the caravanning world but everyone seems very friendly!
I phoned Purple Line today and they told me their clamp
comes with a 5 year warranty and is both sold secure and tested with power
tools. And it looks a lot easier to fit than the others.
I think I’ll probably go with the Nemesis Ultra
but I really appreciate all your input.

Ive just got a belter - nearly new Millenco from the 'Preloved' site for £55 inc postage. It weighs a ton as well!
As for insurance, the C&CC has quote me the same money with and without a wheelclamp. Merely stating if it gets stolen whilst having a 'recognised' wheelclamp fitted, my excess will be zero.
I've just started using the Nemesis Ultra and find it really easy to fit. I've tried a lot over the years and they all have pros and cons, the standard Nemesis for instance is very secure, but it's very heavy and it wont fit behind the wheel on our Lexon because of it's mudflaps or in front because of it's motor mover. So really it's down to your personal set up and choice but for me the Nemesis Ultra does it.
For storage I use a fullstop nemesis but for touring I use a milenco lightweight as the nemesis is ridiculously heavy. Add to this the alko hitch lock and motor bike security chains through the twin wheels.
