Went to the show in Manchester yesterday. Did a very good deal with Adrian of Powerwheel ltd for a HD mover with a 5 year guarantee......
Any one got one fiited and are they as good as the guarantee suggests ?

Have to say Adrian did a great job and came across as very honest with his pitch.

I wouldnt buy any other!

I had a Powrtouch mover fitted to my single axle Pageant which I had for 4 years, more recently when I bought an Elddis Crusader Twin axle I bought the 4wheel AWD version, which I had changed to my new in 2011Elddis Crusader. It has worked brilliantly, has never let me down and worked on all terrain.

As far as after service goes, again second to none. When the dealer removed the two  the Electrical units for the AWD to change to my new Crusader, they damaged one of the units. The dealer arranged to send the damaged unit by overnight courier back to Powertouch. I called Powertouch and asked them if they could keep me advised of progress. They replaced the unit the same day they received it and couriered it back to the dealer to arrive following day and telephoned me back to let me know.

The only other time I needed their after sales was when the door came off my remote handset and the battery fell out and snapped one of the wires. I called Powertouch and they told me to send to them and they would sort it and get it back by return.

I sent it on overnight postal service, they received it the following day, the following day a replacement was in my postbox when I returned home. Great product, great service....

Well that's put my mind at rest
The girls in the office rang me the other day.... Were very keen to deliver until I told them my new caravan wasn't ready to collect yet. They were very helpful and couldn't do enough. I was about to buy a enduro mover after the show but I'm glad I chose the powertouch now.....

Cheers Paul.

We have one which for some reason stopped working last week just when we were thinking of putting it back into storage (new van but probs that were sorted under warranty hence delay). We had it transferred from our old van by the dealers. Called Powrtouch and they thought it was the battery which if it was would cost us £65 for engineer to come out. Engineer came and said the condenser had burnt out completely which he had never seen before so he changed the box and now works perfectly. The guarantee runs out in September this year and we had no quibbles at all. Would like to have automatic one as my husband has had heart bypass and getting on a bit now lol but they are very expensive. They used to be able to update them manual to automatic but found out at NEC last year they don't do any more. Sorry I think I am rambling a bit.

Great piece of kit and unlike some other makes their 5yr warranty covers parts AND labour! We brought ours new in 2011 to put on our 1st van and have since moved it on to our latest one. We have used it to get off soaking wet grass pitches during 2012 and it never had any problems, now we have a bigger van I would never get it into our storage space without it!

Maybe a daft question. But movers in general; does the size of the battery determine the speed (relative i know) that they move?

110 AH will work longer than a 85 AH.

Thanks. So they are essentially one speed irrespective of the number of amps in the battery, or indeed its charged state - no slowing down. Its either moving or stopped?

yes thats correct.charged state is important because a fully charged battery starting at 12.7 volts or more will last longer than one starting at 11 volts.for this reason we keep ours fully charged.our handbook says 10 volt or less the mover will not work or be intermittent.

We have this mover and it moves our 1300kg Abbey up a pretty steep and slippery grass bank to the road every time we go away.

Sometimes it needs a little bit of gravel under the wheels because the grass makes it so slippery but that's the only problem we have every had and that's not related to the performance of the mover at all, more to do with bad ground conditions.

We also only have about 3 inches clearance to each side of the caravan - there is the rear garage wall to one side and next doors chimney/wall to the other, so the fact that the remote has three selectable speed options is very helpful because of the extremely tight space. We can't afford to mis-judge the gap when we put the caravan away!

we've just bought another van and the dealer has fitted a "used" power touch mover.

when we got the van home, the mover paperwork says its a 2010, so still has a couple of years warranty left, but is this tranferable. i dont know who was the original purchaser, nor would the dealer i would think, as he gets them from a large dealer who removes all mover from their vans, when part -exed.

just tried it out the once, and it worked brill, getting it onto my storage pitch, which was a slight incline and wet soggy grass, and only a 85a battery, moved it about 8 metres.17
