Hi.
A week to go before we pick up our first van. We are so excited and nervous for our first trip.
Having looked at loads of web sites etc etc we were wondering if we should join the caravan club. What are the benefits??
Good standards to all their club sites, red pennant for insurance, cheaper ferries, very easy to book holidays on the internet and there is no deposit.Lots of help and advice to be found on their website as well.

I'm a member of the CC and I can't fault them, what's nice is you know that the site will be of a certain standard, and a few perks along the way, I think its worth it.

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.

Access to loads of great Caravan Club sites close(ish) to Falkirk (Edinburgh, The Woods, Kingdom of Fife, Blair Drummond etc) and many further afield for longer trips.
Not to mention insurance services, breakdown cover etc

yes we are cc members .the quality of the sites are paramount to us .also dogs go free which is another plus for dog owners as some sites charge the earth and when you have more than one dog a cheaper site ends up been deare by adding dogs ,awnings and ect to the prices .

I think if you are planning on using the Certificated Locations then there may be some benefit, but there are plenty of other excellent sites around that don't require any membership.
We tried the CC club for insurance, but it worked out cheaper to go with an external caravan insurance company.
So, just to even things out a bit we are not members of the CC club and I struggle to see the benefits for us.
we are with both clubs more choice of sites and you get your money back in the first weeks stay as non members pay on average £7.50 a night more.can not draw a line between them both.both well run and clean.CCClub do age (60+) related stays and prices but not peak times.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Unless you use the club then they are not worth it. I find the insurance no better than anywhere else and while I do have breakdown insurance through the club, I wouldn't join the club solely for that when it can be bought directly from Green Flag.
Club sites are no cheaper than you can expect to pay at a similar commercial site, although you can expect a high standard of site whereas a commercial site can be a bit of a lottery occasionally.
The only reason I continue to renew is because the CLs and rallies are good value but if you wouldn't use them then there are better things to spend £40 on.
C+CC is a similar story although in my experience the sites are not as well maintained and the CS network is significantly smaller than the Caravan Clubs CL network. While the C+CC offer age discounts and in my experience the sites are slightly cheaper than the CC sites, they still don't offer any substantial advantages over commercial sites which are far more plentiful.
I am a member of both Clubs but only so I can use CS and CL sites and attend rallies. However I find the membership fee worth it just to access these.
I have 64 nights planned just with rallies this year!
YES, High standards maintained at all sites, Join up even if its just for the first year and then make your own decisions from what you find before you re-new your membership.
Look for a new member discount if available.
