We nearly always use club sites due to the standard..generally higher than Caravan and Camping (im a member of both). If you have kids and need to book school holidays you will need to book many sites on the day they open bookings (5th dec this last year) otherwise your left with whats left over. Some were booked solid within 2 hours!!

Yes, you are right re. booking. Although I`m glad to say that this is not a problem for

 me anymore, I am now retired and can go anytime. We are in the ccc and take advantage of age concessions.
