Well if they have stopped doing this design that is a great shame. We have an 'L' shaped lounge in our Swift Challenger and this design makes for more room and I love it. The only iffy thing I can see with the design is if someone is tall (say 6' or over) then if you wanted to keep the seating as single beds then this could be a problem, unless your partener is not as tall.

I agree with twurly we love our L shape more space for the dogs our daughter has one too and when their son was a baby the travel cot fitted in no bother
L shaped are great, especially if tall and have size 13 shoes or above, get two tall ones on parallel seating and nobody is getting in or out.

I am 6'2 yet prefer the traditional layout Having been in one with 4 people I found it less than practical there is really only room for 3 the corner section is no good two people cannot sit side by side unless they wish to play footsy or kneesy

I agree, ourSuperCyclone was L shaped, and I never found it very practical with four people. I also missed somewhere suitable to put cups or glasses down - tables are always at risk of being knocked over!
So we're happy to return to parallel seating with central chest, although we have the extra seat cushions to make it U shaped if we wish.
Still, life would be dull if we all liked the same!
The only manufacturer that still does L shape lounge is the Lunar. We loved our L shape and wish we could have had it in our new caravan!
I was told that it has been dropped by most manufacturers as there was no demand. Maybe they don't read forums or do customer research?

Maybe after reading this thread their customer research tells they would only sell 6 caravans of this layout so perhaps little point of going into volume production?
I am really surprised that only Lunar now seem to offer this as an option. We specifically went for our S6 provence because it had this layout, where as a newer S7 one of the same year didn't. Our main reason was floor space as we have very young children so it is ideal for toys and also putting up a high chair......something that is a nightmare in the normal layout. I think this layout is far better for families with young children but can understand why a couple would opt for the standard layout. The only issue we find with ours is that the seats aren't long enough for us to use them as 2 single beds so we always have to make up the double. Apart from that it suits us well and we will probably keep this van for another 3 yrs before looking to change it........at that point (as kids will be a bit older) we would then consider the more standard layout.
We swapped our Elddis Tornado for an Abbey Aventura specifcally for the L-shaped lounge, more spacious and at night we can curl up together and watch TV.
That said, when we upgrade next time, looks like we'll be back on opposite sofas as this layout is out of fashion, for now.
