A year from now we should be in a position to buy our first caravan.
We've got a good idea of what we will be after, probably an Avondale Dart 556/6 or a Bailey Ranger 550/6 (There is an Adria option also). We need a lightweight van with fixed bunks and a side dinette (well we want!) and we'll be looking at something between 2003-2005 I would think.
Anyway, I'm wondering if there is any benefit to joining CC or C&CC before we get a 'van. Would we get anything out of it? Advice or just information?
no dont think it would be of any benefit before you get your van personally .you should get advice about things from here or other websites .
please note avondale are not caravan builders now they went out of businee a few years ago so be aware you may struggle to get parts for one of their vans

You can get advice and information from the Clubs' websites before you join, here for instance, but if you're going to be using your tent this year you could consider joining the C&CC anyway.

With ref to the van, have you tried looking a the Bailey Ranger 540/6 ? We had the Bailey Ranger 550/6 and then changed it to a 540 /6
The 540 /6 is the triple bunk version and works much better for us. Just thought it may be worth a look.
Will take a look. I think my husband spotted one of those the other night actually. Thanks.

Thanks Lyn. We didn't know that about Avondale so something to remember.
I think I'm just getting giddy!
Hi Jules
If it is an avondale that you require, don't let them going bust put you off - the parts are pretty much generic across all makes so getting hold of spares isn't a problem.
