Where do I go for caravan insurance for a van 20 years old?

My van is 1969 and the Caravan Club was one of the few places who would even give me a quote.
Came back very reasonable!

Our van is 18 years old and we insure with the C&CC also at a very reasonable rate.

Our 15 yr old van is also with C&CC, our 1st van was with Caravan Guard, they were also good as when our van was written off in an accident the claim process was dealt with very efficiently

I am not sure I would bother insuring a van of that age because of its low book value. You will have third party cover while towing from your car insurance.I am not sure what the value is or the cost to insure but its just a thought to consider.

Who pays if you are on a site and the caravan rolls away and damages a car or another caravan? What if there is an accident and it catches on fire and someone is injured or killed? If the caravan becomes detached from the car, I am not sure if it would be covered by 3rd party insurance.
Although the caravan may be worth only £500, that is still £500 less in your pocket with nothing to show for it. Not worth the chance just to save £50 - £60!

agree with surfer01, we paid £2800 for our 1st van which was a 1999 abbey. The van was written off after a detachment, if we had not been insured i would be £2800 out of pocket and would not have been able to replace. I would assume the OP's van would be worth more than £600 as a similar age to ours, if like us we saved long an hard for ours and the insurance turned out to be worth every penny, insurance is not just for those shiney new vans

We are with Cover 4 Caravans and they are very reasonable. We went with them when a friend had an accident with his off side window coming hard against a gate post and there was no quibble about repair. Also the premium did not go up the following year.
