I know I have a few and as Calor's policy of not refunding the deposit after a few years disincentives me from making the effort to return them I am probably not the only person to have them in the yard.

correct there must be a lot in sheds and garages i have three.a £4 refund on a empty return may solve the problem.

Hi there

When I had a boat, if you changed from Butane to Propane then you had to change the regulator from blue Butane to red Propane.

Does this apply to caravans as well??????

Cheers Fred

It depends what regulator your caravan has. If it is fixed to bulkhead no, you just need correct pigtail fitting for bottle. If regulator is on bottle, yes you need correct regulator for bottle.

I did this last weekend, it was a no brainer. The bottles are much lighter, so well worth the extra £3 per refill.

No change in regulator was needed for me, the one on the bulkhead worked as well with this as with the last gas bottle. Just the pigtail to be changed if you haven't got the screw in one already.

i would say yes as i need to ask now when we go to a club site if they have them.they will only change calor lite for calor lite.last one was £22 cash because its not done through the club itself so can not go through the till.read a report of hundreds of thousands of empty bottles going missing.found it

I complained to the CC about the fact that sites advertise that they sell gas but I was unable to get a replacment (like for like) calorlite or any other type of propane / butane when I ran out last year.

Their answer was that the gas sales (and shop sales) are run by the wardens and the CC have no control over what they do.

It seems that the CC have no interest in what their wardens get up to and what prices they charge!!

Another reason for not belonging to the CC as they seem to be more interested in how much profit they can make on the balance sheets than their members. The new "Flat Rate" fees on certain sites means that when we go to our favourite but little used site it costs us more unless we go in peak season when it is still empty because there is nothing for children to do and no shower block or toilets to make family camping more comfortable!

We will not renew when the subs are due again.
