The problem is that is has now come off the wall 3 times !! I have repaired it twice and now have a nice collection of holes in my wall (which is that thin particleboard stuff).
I want to repair it once and for all but how do I go about reinforcing the screws without having to remove the furniture, the window seal etc to gain access to the void? I am wondering if I can inject something into the holes?
You would think caravan manufacturers would reinforce such things with a strip of wood when they are actually building the van wouldn't you!? But they rely on 3 small screws to do the job with nothing for the screws to bite into.
2 small children using the table continually for the last 4 years worth of camping has taken its toll! I cannot use any other type of table as it is used to form the 5th bed.
Try this - - - mix sawdust and woodglue to fill the holes, leave 24 hours then refasten, worked for me years ago and lasted the time we had the van (5 years).

You could drill the holes out and glue some dowel in them. When the screws go into the dowel, the dowel will open up in the hole locking it up solid. You could also put some glue behind the rail to back the screws up as well.
measure a piece of 2 x 1 wood to the same size as the width as the rear of the table.fix this to the wall using a quality glue and four screws.when fully dry fix the table bracket to the wood .
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Alternatively, buy a second hand caravan table with legs from a breaker. Swap the folding legs on to your table and it will double up as a portable table if you want to eat outside on a fine day - or every day in sunny Scotland.
