HI, I have just bought a Bailey Pageant from a small dealer at Bratton near Bude, and I just have to praise the service that Linda and Stuart gave me.

 I had only driven about ten miles from Bratton, and was just thinking how well the van towed when I had a  tyre blow out on the van, this ripping off the wheel arch. I pulled into a handy(!) layby and phoned Coombe Valley Caravans in a mild panic.

Within half an hour, Stuart arrived, took the destroyed tyre and the spare (which had a dodgy valve ) and an hour later, after the offer of replacing the wheel arch, I was on my way back to Bristol with a new tyre and a good spare. Cost ? Nothing !

Now, it's easy to say that the dealer has a responsibility to help, but he didn't have to, and the speed and friendliness of his response was I think, above the call of duty.

I would check the other tyre though, blowouts happen for a reason, either tyre damage which should have been picked up by dealer inspection as should faulty spare, or just age of tyre as they eventually perish. 5-6 yrs is as old as caravan tyres should be regardless of wear.

I would hope your dealer did not fit a budget tyre if you intend to tow long distance at motorway speeds. It might be a good idea if you fitted 2 new premium or mid range tyres & put new tyre just fitted to spare.
