Does anyone have any thoughts/experience good or bad with regard to Quest Rolli awnings. I am tempted to purchase one soon, however I would appreciate any information with regard to this and other makes of roll out awning.

i have seen a few videos of the rolli and while i dont have one they do look like an excellent quality alternative to the omnistor safari rooms which are very pricey!!

Hi blueexpo 97,

I have read this previous article, did the owners find out what caused the roll out awning to collapse?

I remember this thread and it immediately swayed my consideration towards the Fiamma Caravanstore.
To be fair, it hasn't had as much use yet as expected (change in circumstances only causing lower use of van), but for the convenience during rally use, I've found it excellent. I bought it only for the canopy (not bothered with the additional sides, will use a conventional porch for longer breaks), but it's fine left in-situ and dead easy to roll out and pitch.

Far from me to guage from just photo's, but the Quest product simply doesn't come across as that 'substantial'; I've yet to come across one in use.

We went with the Quest Roli Awning but had to wait for the correct roof poles for our Barcelona...the awning was easy to put up and felt quite strong & sturdy, the following day we went out and during the day we had some heavy rain only to come back and find the awning had collapsed.

The awning does have very good potential but there in our opinion there are 2 main faults.

1, The roof poles need a more sturdy fitting mechanism ( probably like the Isabella Awnings )

2, The roof poles themselves need to be stronger rather than the very light aluminium.

I'm sure if Quest addressed theses 2 items we felt the awning then had the potential to be very good especially as it can be left on the Awning Rail in its own bag.

Awning was returned and refunded by the retailer without any problem.

Hi Paul,

I had a look at the Fiamma at the NEC show last week, it looks good. I am tempted to purchase this one, however I do have one dislike. I intend to purchase the sides for this canopy, however the window areas do seem small. That said, Fiamma do market this as a privacy room and not an awning. A friend of mine has a Fiamma privacy room on his motor home and has not had any issues aithough I appreciate this is a different canopy model to what caravaners purchase. I do like the look of the Quest Rolli Awning but due to the threads I have read, I dont anticipate purchasing one of these.

Hi Zipster, I hope your caravan was not damaged during this event. I had a good look at one of these Rolli awnings at the NEC last week and I have to say it looked impressive. My one concern is the method used to maintain tension in the roof poles. There are only three holes per pole and a locking pin used to maintain the tension in the roof poles. I wander what happens when the fabric streches due to the weather, Full tension could not be applied, as the tension is predetermined by the locking hole locations. The Fiamma caravanstore is looking favorite at present.
