We used to have one in the early 80s towed as if it wasent there, sometimes i would forget about it and realise i was doing 70mph.
Had to sell it because i couldnt get a good nights sleep,
the bed was about 5ft 10ins long and i am 6ft 3in. should of checked before we bought it, LOVED IT though.

Hi everybody I am posting here as I have just bought myself a little fisher holivan caravan 1969 i am planning to do her up and I'm very excited! Again can't find much info about her online any words of advise would me much appreciated :D Katie x

Which model did you buy?

There isn't much info on these great little classics as they are quite rare now but if you have any questions or need advice about doing her up then I will do my best to help as I am sure other forum members will too.

Hi,

I bought a little holivan last month. ive been giving her a little clean up. Im looking at awnings for her. Helen do you know of any quirky ones? that look as unusual as our little vans? needs to have a little sleep area built in. Any help is most appreciated :)

I really struggled to find an awning that would fit my Holivan due to her low roof height (220cm rather than the more common 235cm-250cm)
I am still looking for a vintage awning but they are pretty few and far between in a small enough size (ground to ground is just 660cm!)
In the meantime, I bought the Outdoor Revolution Touring XLS awning which has a 2 berth sleeping pod attached and is quick ad easy to put up.
I am currently on a seasonal pitch this year and bought a second hand canvas porch awning off eBay which is almost full size on my Holivan but it seems to be doing the job!

Hello. I also have a Fisher Holivan and am trying to get an awning for it. I was told by a Caravan place yesterday, that an awning probably wouldn't fit the caravan because the roof is not straight, but slightly rounded.
I'm assuming you've had no trouble attaching yours Helen?

The OR Touring actually fits really well. Because it is a drive away awning, it has the "tunnel" attachment that feeds through the awning rail which takes up the bend in the roof, leaving the actual awning standing straight and true.

I am currently on a seasonal pitch and have a 260 wide porch awning on her - it fits reasonably well and is virtually a full awning on Holi! Again, I had problems with the height but I got the awning cheap so we just folded the mud skirt over and pegged through it!

When it came to insurance, I found many companies wouldn't even give me a quote as my van was too old!
The best place I found, who gave me very good quote (and weren't ageist!) was the Caravan Club.




Are you still insured by the caravan club? How would I go about getting a quote with them? Online it doesn’t give you the option of fisher as a make, thanks in advance x

Hi Helen, I know that this thread was from a very long time ago but I wondered if you could help me? I have inherited a Holivan 350T which needs a lot of TLC. If we can’t get it roadworthy we will be using it as a summer house in the garden, but the hope is to renovate and make it nice and pretty! The only problem is that it has no wheels and I don’t know the size to buy new ones. I’ve got 4 studs and a centre bore of approx 10cm? Sorry to be a pain. Just really keen to get her moving ☺️ X
