Hi I put this into Motorhome and campervans forum and had some good advice however thought I might get some advice for the caravaners too. Any help would be apprecied.
Had a look and couldn't find any topics on this. I have a problem where my waste water from my bathroom sink and kitchen sink actually comes back up through the shower waste water. All pipes join together under the caravan to form one outlet which I then connect to my grey waste water collection tank. This also happens when I use mains drainage so its nothing to do with the tank being full. I believe there isn't alot of drop between the shower plug hole and where the pipes all join together. I have hunted high and low for a one way flow valve to fit on the outlet pipes but can't find anything. Has anyone had the same problem and if so cured it or any ideas how I can cure it.
Just to also mention that all waste pipes are clear and are not blocked.
Thanks in advance
Gary
Put a plug in the shower tray drain when you're not using it. This is quite a common fault with the drains all into one outlet and the shower being lowest and close to the tank.........Mick
We've had this problem a couple of times and it's been when we haven't got the caravan properly level. But as mickyb says, it's a good idea to keep the shower tray plug in.

I would be inclined to run a separate outlet from the shower. This is normally the case with caravans as standard. The other possibilities are:
A)If you are not pitched level and the shower waste is higher than the waste outlet
2) The hose connected to the outlet has a loop in it to get into the waste container that is higher than the shower waste.
iii) If you have multiple inlets on your waste container, try using one lower down. My waste master has 3 caps. If I am pitched on a slope though, my waste outlet can be higher than the highest of the caps on the waste master. Using one of the others gets around this though reduces the capacity of the container.
It is convienient to have all pipes going into one ,i have done it on my caravan and i have had it back up too.So i bought a plastic inline tap from caravan shop they are about seven pounds ,and are exactly the right size so i cut the drain to the shower inserted the tap and switched it off ,if i want to use the shower in caravan which isnt very often I use the site one useually i just put my hand under the caravan and turn the drain on and back off when i have finished .Works for me I.E the tap is full bore and quite big ,just right for the job
