Advantages - doesn't matter on the weather Disadvantages - no impromptu visits to see grandson in USA because it's too mudy to pitch the tent poppy.dog - we too bought at NEC ( I think we have chatted on a different thread) . My DH has been anti caravans until this time. We go every year to the show and pretend we are buying so I was utterly confused this time until I realised we really were buying. I love caravans and big cars, he likes not to spend money......we bought an SUV on Tuesday to tow the van!!!! Roll on Easter!!! What did you buy? We shall look out for you as we shall do lots of week-ends in Norfolk.

I love tenting we still go to shell island and the great thing about tenting is that I can take the tent and gear with just me and the kids to meet our friends and between us we'll get me all set up before oh arrives but as I don't tow I have to wait for him to get home so often we lose a whole day. So that's my disadvantage...
However, caravanning all year round because you won't get cold, the comfort, having a morning cup of tea without stepping outside, own bathroom facilities, clothes and equipment all stored away out of sight, able to easily have a stopover enroute to somewhere hot, not so difficult to pack up and head off to a second or even third campsite in one holiday, the comfort, the range of cooking facilities, washing facilities I think all of this tipped our balance.

No more damp mornings , no more running across a campsite to the loo, love just getting out of bed making a brew in the warm, then climbing back into bed, going for walks and coming back in to warmth and cosy, dry dry and dry, did I mention dry.
I loved being under canvas we have had some good fun, but being able to go all year round was the selling point for us, been caravanning 7 years now and won't be going back to tents.

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough,but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
