Hi every one can someone please help I have just got a used awning which is ment to be for a 15 foot caravan but when i set it up today it seemed strange as i feed the cord into the runner all the way round which the cord was ok but when i had set it up with all the poles half the side windows were laying on the ground and if i pulled the awning on one side so the window was in the correct place the window on the other side was completly touching the ground can someone please help.
It sounds as if you have the wrong size. Awnings are measured in cms i think. measure the length of your awning rail (all 3 sides) amd then measure the beading on the awning and see if they match. I think there is a 20cm variation before it gets to the next size. For example my old one was a 900cm awning and the van was 910cm.
Hope that makes sense?

It is definitely wrong size if beading is only 2 inches of the ground as it should stop inside channel.here is a link to calculate correct size for your van just enter 4 stepshttp://www.bradcot-awnings.co.uk/index.php/4-easy-steps
the caravan is not on level ground but i would think that would not make such a difference as the windows are one and half feet longer than the beading. if i was to pull one end so the window is in the right place the beading is one and half feet short on runner i hope that makes sence as it hard to explain
Must point out that not all caravans are the same height. That means that a 2.4m high would need 20cm's more length for the awning than a 2.3m high van, so the length of the van don't not matter much.
Always go by the A/A measurement. (ground to ground)
