Simple answer, it will reduce scratches but not stop. people are reporting on line the need to rinse grit off first which makes sense.

Also you must have to keep changing the cloth or wash it I assume otherwise you'd be wiping with dirt??

Our van is dirty and yesterday we put it on our seasonal pitch, we haven't managed to wash it due to the weather and we're not supposed to wash on the pitch so no idea how we will clean it, particularly the roof!
