If water will only come out of the shower with another tap on it is usually the micro switch in the shower tap,each tap has a micro switch which when operated, 2 contacts touch and it completes the circuit to operate the pump,so you are putting the pump on with the other tap and water will come out of any tap that is open.Without knowing what type of tap you have its hard to advise ,the most popular ones you pull the knob off and the 2contacts are underneath somtimes they just require freeing up with WD40 and moving with a pin and they will work again ,or renew them.I am assuming that the wiring is all good
