We are finally going to take the plunge and buy a brand new caravan. After extensive searching, a trip to the NEC and lots of Dealers we have decided on a Sprite Major 6 TD.
We have never owned a caravan before, and would like some advice on what to ask the Dealer for. One of them has given us a couple of grand off, but told us the extras (aquaroll, etc) would be another £345 more. Do we ask for these to be included or an awning. We are a little uncertain, and would appreciate any advice on this. Thankyou

29th-31st May - Warickshire
We bought our new van at the show and had two dealers haggling for our business for the same caravan. We got a really good deal, £2,500 off the price with extras such as tracking system. We asked for a start up package to be thrown in, electric hook up lead, aquaroll plus....we got it!!!!!
If you don't ask you don'tget!

Any dealer will be happy to let you have anything you want at cost price in order to get the caravan sale.
Make a list of everything you want and tell him you want a good deal. If he does't give you a deal you are happy with then have a change of heart re the caravan purchase and see what you can get elsewhere.
Most dealers will have an unbeatable offer, whether it be an exceptional part exchange, a big discount off the list price or a large bundle of extras thrown in.
Another dealer may be able to offer a deal that doesn't sound as good that when you total up the extras might be better. They all try to phrase it so their offer sounds the best but you have to look at the bigger picture to see which is the best deal.
Yes ask for ALL the extras to be included.
Dont forget the value of these Extras are worth a lot less to him than it is to you he buys at trade prices, i doubt weather he will loose a sale for app £170.
A MUST HAVE, is a spare wheel, i would not buy without one included
Be direct and tell him you will buy today if you include all the requested items and discount, then sit back and say nothing untill he gives the answer you want.
its amazing how many people do not do this,
Remember all the extras are worth a lot less to him.
This is what I did.Go online and find dealers within 100 miles that sell the caravan you are after.Be clear in your mind what you want.Phone each dealer, make it clear that you are serious about placing an order.Ask for their best price ,say you will be needing starter pack included. If possible tell them you will place your order within a week or so and you are comparing offers from all local dealers. When you have their best price, VISIT the dealer nearest your home and be prepared to haggle ,hopefully using other dealers a best offer as a starting point. It may be that the best offer is not from your nearest dealer. In my case local dealer got to within £45 of best offer so I accepted.Good luck.!!!
