I had a Great idea and it worked.
I wanted to fill my toilet tank, I couldn't find my watering can which I normally use. I didn't want to tip water out of the aqua roll because it puts toilet and drinking water too close together.
So I took the head off the shower, popped the pipe out through the window and filled it from the shower. Its even easier than the watering can method.
The van we have now as no toilet tank its fed directly from aquaroll. But our previous vans we have had, l would before connecting hose to aquaroll would fill toilet tank first, that's if we are on full service pitch. If not get the wife to fill it with a 5 ltr bottle the type used for orange squash
Good idea using the shower if it will reach toilet tank, it will depend on bathroom layout.

Tony, must admit I have never heard of the water for the toilet coming from the aquaroll, until now. So does your loo have no flush fluid then

mines the same as tonys runs of the onboard water tank you just put blue fluid in holding tank much easier than filling extra tank up, but as you say no flush fluid

That's right we have the 2013 Elddis Super Cyclone no flush fluid and is flushed from aquaroll or onboard tank, saving money on the pink stuff that goes into toilet cistern

If you have a toilet water system fed from an external Aquaroll it may be easier during the summer months but not be so beneficial for winter caravanners in general as the barrel is likely to freeze much the same as the fresh water depending on the severity of the temperature. So is there an option to actually use either an Aquaroll or the older type conventional filling at all?

I suppose its what you get used to but i would want to see how they stop back contamination from the toilet
I cant see what the hardship is , when filling the Aquaroll I take a small plastic container with me and fill it up then fill the toilet header tank , it takes days to run out any way ,
I do much the same as you Joe. I use a 5 litre container that I fill with water and then back at caravan I add a measured dose of Elsan Pink (15ml for double strength Elsan or 30ml for normal Elsan Pink). Simply pour it in from the container and it mixes well in the process, unlike adding the pink after filling header tank. Adding pink to the container ensures the concentration is correct and helps to prevent the dreaded black gunge in the tank. Prior to leaving the site I drain the header tank back into the container for use next time rather than leaving it in header when travelling. It probably sounds OTT but it works for me and with once or twice a year flush through with Puriclean the header tank stays clean.
